This page is going to house stuff that I have personally used and recommend to help motivate me to lose weight. Some of it is free, some of it is not.

Fitbit Ultra – An amazing device that has helped motivate me to keep increasing the number of steps I take each day. Recommended to me by my boss, Steve French. He still kicks my butt every day in steps, but the gap is closing. I like the Fitbit so much that I decided to become an affiliate. MyFitnessPal – A calorie counting website that conveniently has apps for all brands of smartphone. It’s also a big websiteI’ve used a few of them, and this one is the one I like the best. It’s very easy to track calories and easily bring up food that you’ve eaten often. It not only tracks calories, but the entire range of daily intake for vitamins and nutrients. One of my favorite things about MyFitnessPal is that you can scan in the bar code of something that you are eating if you can’t find it in the huge database they already have. My very favorite thing about MyFitnessPal is that it integrates with the Fitbit website, and reports calories back to Fitbit, so I can view my stats in one place.

Endomondo – This is an amazing website that also has apps for all brands of smartphone. It essentially tracks your progress via satellite while doing any sort of exercise. For instance, I use it for walking. After my walk, it shows a map of where I went, my pace, how many miles I went and all sorts of great stats like that. My friend Jesse Traucht recommended it to me, and while I was hesitant at first, I absolutely love this app. You can have it automatically post your maps to Facebook or Twitter, and the feedback and encouragement I receive when posting these is something that really helps to motivate me.
